Ensuring everyone can use our platforms is a significant part of our core business and vision. Avy is committed to providing digital accessibility for people with disabilities and therefore continuously improves the user experience for all and applies accessibility standards as part of its work.
At Avy we want to be inclusive and offer a platform for everyone. That is why we aim to achieve the European Union accessibility standard WCAG 2.2. In this statement you will therefore find details about our vision, and our strategy for how we will work towards meeting WCAG 2.2.
It is our ambition to have external as well as internal reviews regularly carried out for all parts of our product portfolio, to ensure that we meet current requirements and recommendations.
The initiatives that have been carried out so far are Identification of availability deficiencies in our products, Creation of new work processes where accessibility work is an integral part, as well as Strengthened awareness and maturity around accessibility throughout our organization. We have trained our organization to ensure that we have the skills and knowledge needed to build our products in accordance with current requirements and standards.
Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) defines requirements and recommendations for designers and developers to provide support in improving accessibility for users with disabilities. Avy's products went through an external review process in 2022, where a number of barriers and deficiencies were identified. Furthermore, we conduct internal review work on a regular basis to help us identify and correct further areas of improvement. Avy currently meets only parts of WCAG 2.2, which means that few or a number of the products do not meet the requirements in full.
Screen reader
Avy's platforms currently do not support the use of screen-reading software such as Google's TalkBack or Apple's VoiceOver.
Keyboard navigation
Avy's platforms do not currently support the use of keyboard navigation.
Avy's platforms do not currently support dynamic text scaling. This means that users who prefer enlarged text or suffer from vision difficulties may perceive the platforms as difficult to use.
Contrast-ration on text, icons and other non-decorative elements meets the requirements only to some extent. Requirements: 4. 5:1 (running text) and 3:1 (larger text and elements).
Identified deficiencies are planned to be addressed on an ongoing basis starting from January 2023 onwards.
We are constantly striving to improve the accessibility of our products. If you encounter any obstacles or problems regarding the availability of our products, or if you have any concerns, please get in touch. Please use the contact details below, we welcome your thoughts.
